“Yummy Yogurt Pops”

So it’s no surprise that every weight loss journey faces some challenges and temptations along the way. Even in a perfect environment like “The Biggest Loser”, contestants are constantly surrounded by many tempting situations that test their discipline. But the truth is, there are just times when you HAVE to fix a craving. Some of my largest challenges have surfaced from the notorious “sweet tooth” that too often gets the best of us. Well have no fear because Rocoo Dispirito is here!

For those of you unfamiliar with his work, Rocco is a world-renowned chef and TV personality for the Food Network. He has a popular name amongst many media outlets world wide, and has made several guest appearances on “The Biggest Loser”. Recently, I stumbled upon a low calorie recipe called “Berry Yummy Frozen Yogurt Pops”, found in Dispirito’s cook-book Now Eat This! Oh believe me they taste even better than they sound! With summer right around the corner, I want to share this simple low calorie recipe to help you, when you just cannot resist satisfying those sugar cravings.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup fresh raspberries
  • ¾ cup fresh blueberries
  • ¾ cup fresh strawberries
  • 1/3 cup granulated Splenda®
  • Two 7-ounce containers of 5% Greek yogurt
  • Pinch of salt

Directions:

1.     Combine all the ingredients in a blender and puree until the mixture is smooth. Pour the mixture into 8 freezer pop molds, and freeze for at least 4 hours and up to 2 days.

2.     Run the freezer pop molds under warm water if necessary, or let them sit out at room temperature until the pops can be removed.
